I was looking at the new Becker Crewman being made by Kabar and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them? Also do you like the sheath and handles or is there anything you would change

It would be a great knife for a camp tool. What do you mean by bushcraft? That tends to mean different tasks to different people and it could be that a BK16 would be the tool of choice, depending on what that means to you. The BK10 is a great knife that I've used mostly for harvesting fatwood and spitting small logs for firewood.

It'll serve your needs in those area's the Bk16 will be a better carver and food prepper though. Bk 10 is better for the fire and chopping, but like I said you can make it work. What Becker knives do you have now?

I like the sheath and handle scales as they come, I used them stock for about 3 weeks before I switched out to Micarta and a spec ops sheath. I had an extra set of micarta and an extra spec ops sheath laying around waiting for this knife to come out so I felt obligated to put them on the knife. But to one they come with are real good.

someone told me that because of the thumb ramp it wont fit in a spec ops sheath
Lie's. It fit perfectly, I didn't even have to boil the insert to make the ramp relief. It slides straight in and is held firm. Now my bk 7 and bk12 I had to boil the insert and re mold it a bit.

It's more of a camp knife. It's 3/16 in. blade is just to big to carve, and that's what makes a good bushcrafter. But yes it's a hell of a knife, could go wrong getting it.

i was thinking maybe some carving and light chopping along with fire and food prep

it's very capable in the light chopping & fire prep dept. i don't see why it won't work for camp food prep too but i prefer my folder for ease of clean-up - a quick wipe with one of those alcohol-soaked paper towels and it's good to go.

I've been using a BK10 of one variation or another since '03. It is a very capable blade! The newest variant by Ka-Bar is outstanding. The sheath(despite others complaints) is far beyond the old Camillus sheaths. This blade can handle anything you ask of it.

Just got my 10 a few weeks ago but haven't taken it for a walk yet. I like the sheath, and while I like the stock handles, I'll be making a set of micarta handles as soon as I get the new garage set up...which will be after the new house is built...of course, the builder has to get started for all that to happen.

And, when i was all done, it still did this !!!

Shaved hair.

BK10LE, with all the bells & whistles. :D
