My wife just shook her head when she walked in the den to find me roughing a spoon on her new rug. I told her i would clean up after myself and cook dinner if she'd pretend she didnt see anything.

It's funny you post this, I did the same exact thing except i was making a walking stick and when I did it I broke the damn vacuum trying to clean up before she could find out... I was in big trouble

Lay down some newspaper first, or even a large bath towel. Whittle over that and when done, lift it carefully and dump it into a container to use as tinder.

She actually didnt say anything about it. I fixed beef tenderloin for dinner with rosemary potatoes, and i think she may have forgotten all about it. lol. I did infact save the chips, and will be using them next weekend. I will toss a pic of the spoon up, when im finished sanding and sealing it.
