BK11 or BK14 first?

Well, I now have a BK2 and a BK7 and I think its time to try out a small Becker. Which one should I get first? Anyone have a comparison pic of the 11, 14, and an Izula? I've been pocket carrying my Izula and I'm wondering how they will compare in length. Any suggestions are welcome.

Congrats on your purchases, you have 2 really great knives there bro'!

I've been EDC'ing my 14 for a while now, as a neck knife, and all I can say is WOW!

I did some considerable research before buying it and chose it over the 11 because I have large hands and I read it sits better when using it for longer periods of time.

I've read a lot of posts about the bottle opener on the 11 digging into your hands after a while.

I suggest you try doing a search, on this forum, as there are a ton of posts on both these knives and if I can make another suggestion, try to borrow both and see which one feels better to you.

The handles on the 14 and the izula are the same, the 11 has a shorter 3 finger grip with the bottle opener end. The blades on the bkt's will be a little longer than the izula. If your an izula fan and wanna try a Becker id say the 14 is a safe bet. But 11 is great to. As for the issues of comfort, for me that small of a knife isn't use over a prolonged period except for maybe field dressing, so comfort for a long time wasn't an issue for me.

I prefer the Bk14. But that's just me.

Thanks for the pics Moose. I think they made my decision harder though. I kinda like the bottle opener of the 11 and it could come in handy and I don't really need a full 4 finger grip. Then I do like the Izula grip. Maybe I'll flip a coin.

Yeh as far as a three finger edc knife the 11 is great, and it opens your beers! I personally prefer the 11, I like how the handle is shaped and I don't go out and do much heavy lifting with it. Id recommend micarta on either (the 14 will accept izula micarta with some shaving of the inserts) it just makes them better and you don't have to worry about rewrapping cord if you use it to field dress or gut something.

You can still pop off the cap with a 14, done it a ton of times. ;)

I got my 11 because the 14 just doesn't do anything for me. Wore the coating off the bottle opener by the end of the first week I had the durn thing. I could see how maybe for prolonged use the 14 might have a more comfortable handle, but then again I'd think any metal-only knife handle is going to be uncomfortable after a while.

Germans, always thinkin' outside of the box, when it comes to beer.

thinking outside the BOTTLE.

The BK-11 was my gateway knife.
The Izula is suhweeeet, but if you've GOT one, I say go with the BK-11. Although I think the 14 is cute, and great collaboration, aesthetically it's a bit goofy to me. Personally I'd rather have an Izzy AND a BK-11 than their love child.

No offense to the 14 intended, Lecter, my only two Beckers are the 2 and the 11.... compared to the 2, the 11 & 14 are definitely 'cute'. :-)

(sometimes cute kicks ass too, for sure! hehehe.)

You call the 14 goofy, but you prefer a knife with a bottle opener on it? ;)

The only Becker I have is the 11, but it is great. As far as the 3 finger issue, it is pretty easy to make a paracord finger loop for a little extra leverage.

Simply wrap a length of cord around your pinky finger, with a little wiggle room, cut it, loop it through hole on the handle and burn the ends together.

And your pinky finger in the air, care for a cup of tea? lol
