BK11 San Mai: Blade-ware from Sheath

I really like my BK11 San Mai. I have noticed that the sheath is causing shinny areas. Anyone have a recommendation to get it back to the "bead-blasted" look it came with?

steel wool. Coarse or fine it's up to you how rugged you want it to look. But the main issue is the sheath. Neh?
