hi there,
just got my bk11 carbon san mia,
and i love everything about it just to say.
everything but the sheath. I mean, its no esee sheath but its okay. I got the knife for a great great deal at supply Sergent in edmonton and they were great. but the sheath i got seemed to be horribly worn out. it barely holds the blade in.
I was just wondering if anyone has had any relations with BKT and if their customer service is as good as their knives. Ideallyh i would like to just get a replacement sheath and thats all.

I think they had a bad batch of sheaths or something. Others on the board have gotten theirs replaced by sending in the old one. Good luck, BD

How is the finish on your San Mai? I ordered and returned one 3 months back because I was disappointed in the lack of polishing of the surfaces of my knife.

I don't want to crap on the thread or your knife, so I hope it is much better than the one I bought from amazon. After returning my san mai, I bought the standard model and am exceedingly pleased with it.
 
iirc, those older sheaths are actual kydex, so you SHOULD be able to heat it up with a hairdryer a little bit, and adjust it to suit tension/etc.

if you get a brand new glass-filled model, you get what you get (you can't adjust it)

polish - as i recall - they were all a kinda matte finish, not a high polish at all but they did come RAZOR sharp, being hand stropped/honed before being shipped.

i should get another one of those myself before they are all gone.

Yeah I may just talk to BKT about the sheath beacuse it sucks. Haha

also, the knife wasn't sharp AT ALL!!! Kinda made me mad. But I sharpened it myself and I got it pretty good.
