BK13 blunt tip???

So I got my BK13 today. Does the BK13 not have a very "pointy" tip? It almost looks like the very tip has broke off. It arrived in the mail sealed in the package so it should have never been used.

Post it up and the good folks here will let you know. Seems like it oughta be fairly easy to tell if the tip has been damaged somehow.

It just seems that the very tip is not as sharp/pointy as any other knife I own. Well, at lest before it has been used. Don't know if you will be able to tell from the pic but here are a couple.

The scrapes are probably from me. I was using one of the sticks from my sharpmaker to see if I could get the tip a little more pointy. It came sealed in a plastic package.
