I never was overly crazy about the way the finger guard felt on the 13. I didn't mind the way it looked, but not felt. So I ground on it a bit, to round it out.

Feels great now that it follows the contour of my finger:

Was a simple project. I put a stone in my 18 volt driver, and ground it at slow speed. You can't believe the difference this made. I also did a slight sheath mod, but nothing worth posting really.

UPDATE:

Made yet another mod to the 13.

Ground this notch into the end of the handle:

And added some 1/8 shock cord to the sheath:

Put an end on the shock cord.(I think you know where I'm going with this):

Put the knife in the sheath:

Stretch the shock cord out to the notch:

Will also stay in the BK2 sheath now: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/845352-BK2-Sheath-Mod.-Extremely-Photo-Heavy

When I ground the finger guard down, it made it rattle in the sheath more, obviously, so this was my solution.

Nice mod, man. Did you do the jimping, too? I don't have a Remora, so I'm not solid on their stock appearance. That thing looks tiny in some of your pics, though.

Yes, I did the jimping too. Not very good, lol, but I did it. It is a small knife. I really like it a lot. I originally bought it for my BK9 sheath, but now I put it in one of my packs. The first photo, not mine, is how it looks stock.

subtle, nice mod
Thanks brother, appreciated.

looks more like a shark now :) nice job. voided the warranty though :>

Lookin' good, Brother. Now we finally know all your secrets! Nicely done. If you were to leave the ground area square at the edges it would make for a very uncomfortable knife but a great firesteel striker :D

Improves the looks too. Very nice job. Now it's jimped and pimped.

Well done, Warrior. I've contemplated this very mod, but never tried it. How does it affect the retention in the sheath?

The BK11 could also benefit from the same modification. I think the sharp angle at the forefinger is what makes the BK11 grip inferior to the Eskabar/Izula handle.

Thanks brother. I never even gave the warranty a thought, but it is a cheap knife.

Thanks maethor. The jimping makes the sparks fly all the way across the room. I couldn't believe how good it worked.

Thanks tw. I think it improves the looks as well. Like I have outlined in red, it's one sweeping curve now:

I also entertained the thought of drilling another hole in it, like so:

Great functional mod!
Thanks brother, appreciated.

Gives it more of an izula grip, good show.
It is a much more conformed grip, to be sure.

love it! I'm sending you mine.
Thanks MWTIC. Just do it yourself, it was an easy mod. Way easier than jimping it, lol.

Thanks. It still snaps in the sheath well, and wouldn't come out, but, of course, with more removed, it does rattle more. I already have something in mind to fix that though.

Whoa there big spender, I wouldn't pay a cent over $17.25.
I actually paid $19.99 shipped. Hell of a good price on a sweet little blade.

Updated with more photos, of yet another mod I did to the 13.

After looking at that cord end for a third time, I noticed that you could try trimming one side of it down. You know, it has two "edges" where the cord enters the plasic piece. cut one of those back, make the other one sit in the notch.

Great mods Bro, love the choil improvement!!
Thanks brother, and thanks for the stove!

I'm actually not finished with it yet. I was tired of grinding on it yesterday. Slow grinding takes awhile.
