BK13 Remora new handle shape, larger cut outs.

Hi,

Recently purchased a BK13 and it looks different than all the versions I have seen before. It no longer has the large round nub and the cutouts in the handle are larger. Anyone know when the change was made?
Packaging and sheath look the same.

Looks a lot better, imo. The first I'm hearing of the changes. I ground that round nub on mine many moons ago.

That's definitely an improvement. Approaching a mini-16, which is a better fit for the line.
Small knives are awesome, but tricky. There's a point at which trying to maintain proportions backfires and you don't have enough handle.

The BK-13 always seemed really awkward to me. IMO, go for a full-on 3" kephart pattern.

I only have this newer version so can't directly compare the new shape to the old. I made this composite image with the outline of the older version superimposed on the new.

^^That shows it well, thanks. That big knob of a guard was always a goof imo. Looks like they slimmed the blade a little too.
