Does anyone have the American made one? If so do you also have the Taiwan made one? How does the American made one compare to it? I'm figuring they hold an edge better now? About the same? Either way, I think I need to pick up a couple more of them. I'd still like to know though. They are great little knives!

I have 2. Was unaware there was a Taiwan one. My understanding was the knife was made in USA and the sheaths were made in Taiwan. Correct me if I'm wrong

When Kabar first started making the Beckers they were made overseas and often included for free with the big knives. They were later brought to the US and they stopped including them as the cost on them understandably went up.

Kabr website says it's 1095. Every retailer says it's 440A.... weird.
It's uncoated and I can't imagine kabar putting out an uncoated carbon steel blade, so is this just a typo on Kabar's website?

Must be a typo...I heard rumblings of a 1095 Remora but nothing ever official.

The first Remoras were made in China, then production was moved here.

They are all stainless. I believe some sort of 440 but don't quote me on that...

God I wish they made them in 1095!!!! We brought that up and most if not all said they'd buy them if they were 1095. Regardless I enjoyed mine. It's where it all started for me.

The China one is not hollow ground. I can't tell much difference in performance between the two

Hmm, interesting. I'd actually prefer a flat grind. I have a used one coming with a BK7 in a couple of days but I don't know the country of origin. I guess I'll know soon enough.

This is my understanding as well.

order a handful of the usa made hollow ground ones...

they are pocket scalpels

Yeah I'm about to. They really take an edge! I had mine razor sharp, like shave my face sharp. I doubt anyone remembers my video of me working my 13 years ago...
