Posted this over on the esee forum thought I would share it here with my fellow beckerheads. Sky's leather motivated me into picking up a candiru. So far love it along with my bk 11 and 14. Small fixed blades are damn useful.

Skystorm leather, great quality as usual. Wears very comfortable on the belt great job.

light battoning of aged mesquite hard wood very tough, but the candiru did a great job. I was very surprised how well it felt in my hands. I have pretty big hands but with a three finger grip the knife cuts and battons with ease.

Overall really love the form and function of my esee candiru and will be edc it instead of a folder. Now my next question is which esee will I purchase next.

Huh, I just read this somewhere....

Looks like a great setup on that survival pouch. The Candiru really is a great little knife. Looks like you had a good time practicing your skills, which make any day a great day!

does that sheath fit the 14? i know Sky was talking about it but i was just curious if you had tried it... i really like that setup. thanks for posting

Nice! I need to get one of those Pecker-Bug knives, looks like a great lil EDC fixed blade!

I think Sky said the Remora will fit in that sheath

I too just picked up a Candiru. It's going to make a great companion to my BK9. Looking into combo sheath options now.

Thanks for the review, glad you like it.

Still working on the 11/14 design. There are quite a few knives in that size category that will fit the next one.

So far BK11/14, Izula/II Hest, Esee3, Scrapmax, 311. Probably a bunch of others as well. When I get some free time I will work on it some more.

how did you get that patina on your 14? is it gun blue or did you use something like vinegar? I wan't to strip my 14 and I really like the finish on that. Or is it just the pictures and it's just a plain stripped 14, I can't really tell.

I used a malt vinegar for the patina. First dip in a sandwich bag 45 mins. Then a light wet sand with 1000 grit then another 45 min soak. Gives it a nice dark patina.

thank you very much! going to pick up some stripper tomorrow and do this, did you do any sanding before the first dip? or just strip and clean and then patina it?

No problem. After the blade is stripped ( I used citrus strip) then sanded with 400 grit wet sand.
