The 14 arrived today, and the size is exactly what I was looking for. I like the coating on my BK2 (I will let it wear off naturally before removing it completely), but I don't really like the coating on the 14.

I plan on stripping the coating and just doing paracord on the handle while I save my pennies for some micarta. The blade came somewhat sharp, but it still needs some love to get to hair poppin' sharp.

At any rate, if you don't own a 14, get one. For ~$36, why not?

Congrats on the new blade. I just got a 14 too and it came pretty sharp. I thought i'd get it even sharper, its alot duller now.lol. I need a new sharpening system.

I like the Naniwa Japanese water stones. Get one of the combination sets (you can find them for $50 + shipping). If your blade is already pretty sharp, you can get some 3M 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper.

The 14's handles are really growing on me..Ill just pick up a 24 sometime down the road.

The 14 is a great little blade. If your don't love it you can send out to me!
Use it before it bites you.....

This design is so elegant in its simplicity. I'll have to own one 1 day. It is my favourite of this style.

The 14s are nice. I had one and then let it get away with one of my favorite students when she moved. I've bought a couple more 11s since then and need to pick up another 14...but now I'm really wanting a 24!

I used mine to carve a few sticks today. Very nice little bale. Enjoy and welcome...

Glad you are liking the 14....... It is a great little blade ( if'n I do say so myself ) .....mine have been very usefull doing all manner of tasKs.......Hope you get a lot of use and enjoymentfrom it .......

I'm sure it will serve me well in all of my day-to-day (and perhaps even the less conventional tasks). No I just need a 16, 24, 5, and 9. And all of the rest of 'em.

Thanks for the great, cost effective designs!

I have a nice big Norton India combination stone, I just dont think I am very good with it. I am not good at getting the angle right (except on my 2 because its easy). I think I need to save up for a guided system or a worksharp
