BK14 grivory

I have a BK14, BK2, and a bunch of other knives, most of which have micarta. I know that many people don't like the grivory, and initially my impression was negative, but the more I use my BK2, the more I like the grivory. It's NOT slippery, it doesn't cause hotspots, it takes abuse and still looks new, works well with factory sheath and leather sheaths, etc, etc. The more I think about it, the more I want grivory scales for my 14. I have been using it EDC for a while, and to be honest like the blade shape and overall ergonomics more than the ESEE Izula 2, but only when the handle is thicker, like with paracord. And I am not that enamored with a paracord wrap for the 14. I figure it is unlikely to happen, but thought it might make for an interesting thread. Anyone else want some grivory for a small Becker?

yup, i want it...

i believe Toooj should chime in. he the man :)

Add me to the list, Grivory scales for my BK14 would set it up, darn near perfect.

Good call.

I'd take a set, also. Just make sure they go to the end of the handle and not stop short like the izula handles.

Not trying to dissuade anyone from what sounds like a great idea, but until and unless Ka-Bar accedes to your wishes, there's always Sh@rp's polycarbonate 14 scales. Texture-wise, they're very similar. There's a fairly recent thread around here on 'em I do believe.

The reason I like this idea, is I consider the BK14 an EDC, but also a concealable knife. The grivory would give you a better grip, but is also smooth so that it would not hang up on clothing when drawing from IWB or under a shirt.

Same here.

I must have missed that thread...got a link?

I'd love that. Will settle for micarta I suppose for my BK11 and BK14 but would MUCH rather have grivory.
