I've got a BK14 on the way and am petty psyched for it! Anybody got any suggestions on what mods to try out? Obviously, stripping will be first on the list, but since I've done that before I'd be down for trying something new. I promise to post pics as I go along

Maybe add some jimping? i know some dont care for it but with a smaller knife on detailed cuts, for me, it helps quite a bit with control.
I dont want to mess up my bk11 so i plan on having k9-handler jimp me up, media blast, and do some duracoating.

Thats one thing i love about the baby beckers, theres so much you can do. there small so services arent as expensive and if your learning to do it on your own and mess up it wasnt a knife that cost a weeks salary. Some people feel off by the fact the knife only cost 30, so why spend over 30 on services? well most great edc knives are easily over 100. if u spent 30 on the knife and 35-40 on services like media blasting jimping and painting then hell you still have some left over to work on a custom sheath and have a really unique edc knife that beats out the 100+ knife before you do anything with it. JMHO

I did a couple of different handle wraps with paracord on mine recently until I finally decided to go back to the zytel grips. If you neck carry I'd suggest to stick to a wrap to keep the weight down as the zytel adds a bit of heft.

This was by far the most comfortable wrap I tried. There are endless possibilities when it comes to paracord wraps.

As far a modding the blade itself personally I never felt like anything needed to be changed other then removing the paint (it would be nice to have some izula II length handles on there but unfortunately adding metal is very hard to do). I do plan on getting a better sheath for it one day though. I'm using the stock one with a bunch of dryer lint jammed in it to prevent rattling and a ka-bar TDI clip for attachment. I carry this knife almost everyday and love it.

Jimping would be awesome, but I'm not sure how I would do it since I don't have immediate access to any grinders or anything. I would love to do it though.

Do the zytel grips really add that much weight? I've been tempted to try those out.

From what i have been reading its best to use a checkering file for jimping, a special file that will cost you 30-50 bucks. If you have a bunch of knives you want to jimp this might be an idea, but if you just want the 1 jimped ask in services? or shop talk? whatever its called, and you could get it done cheaper than buying the file.

The grips don't add substantial weight, however they do add a decent amount of fullness to the handle. I still neck carry my 14, with zytel. However I did bore out the ring to the handle size, and I stripped the blade, and convexed the edge.

I did the jimping on my 13 in two places on the blade, right near the hilt and right near the tip. It's really nice when choking up to lay your thumb on the jimping near the front. I haven't tried this to a 14 yet.

I think all Ethan Becker's blades are most forgiving when it comes to mods for whatever reason and take personalization so well.
And among them the 14 is like the "everybody blade". Starting from cor wraps to full-on reshaping, clipping, resurfacing etc.....
It will take to it well as long as you don't make any elementary errors.
