Which should I get? I want it for a EDC blade that I will wear across my lower back on my belt (I has my ways) I have heard a lot about the spine being bent a little on the 14, and that is a minus because I really don't want to take the time to send it to Ka-Bar.)h, and don't suggest the 11 just because of the beer opener, I don't drink. Thanks!!

I went with the BK11, myself. I liked the consistent width of the handle. That's basically what it boiled down to, for me. The notch under the bottle opener is great for bending wire, as well.

I have both, and to keep it short, go for the 14. It has a much more comfortable handle compared to the 11, and I mean way more comfortable:thumbup: The 11 is to short to get a full handle grip on, and is somewhat painful to use in a hammer grip for any any medium to heavy duty tasks.

The bent BK14s were caused from (from what I know) a bad stamping process. I believe it has now been corrected, and only a few bent BK14s got out of Ka-Bar and to dealers. You shouldn’t have a problem with getting a bent one, and if you do get one that is slightly bent, I am 100% positive that is does not affect the structural integrity of the knife, so just ignore it, and use it!

I went for the 11 also. Got the carbon steel version. Heck of a nice knife. Are you planning on keeping it stock, or will you put scales on it? If you are reasonably handy, you can make your own scales. Mine is VERY comfortable in hand, even in a reverse grip.

If you have a bigger hand and you only want the one knife, get the 14. Is a more comfortable grip.

Other than that ... same thing only different. I have both. Fun little knives.
