BK14 ordered...am I done now?

Yep, definitely a Tweener. And a 5. You might want a 7 in there as well, just in case. And you could probably use a 10 for when the 7 is a tad too long. Not to mention a BK-3 for your car. And a Machax for the yard. And a couple of 13's to stick in your factory sheaths. And an 11 to help you open your beer. And another Tweener, because just owning one of them is silly.

those were my first three Beckers: 2,14,9...then I got a 16- that's all I really need for any cutting task. I found myself not using my 2 so I put that in my vehicle. the 14 is always with me and the 9/16 combo is a perfect woods combo ( plus the 14 of course).

I have my bases covered right?

BK9
BK2

And patiently waiting for BK14..

Get the 16... for reals. I much prefer the 16 over the 14.

Don't forget micarta and stainless hardware after stripping it. ;)

Sweet 16 you got there!

I'll agree that you definitely need a 16 or 17 to compliment your 9. Plus, you might need a 5 or 15 for camp. And don't forget to get a 24. You know you want some D2 greatness. A 3 isn't a must have unless you want to survive the urban apocalypse. Oh ya, a 4 is a must have if you ever want to survive any other apocalypse.
The 7 &10 are also required in order to gain membership into the order.
If you have to ask "what order" then you're not ready but don't worry it takes time.
When you get all of those bases covered check back with us. We'll give you the updated list.:D

ineed a bk9 how can i not own a bk9!!! soon mooma has aproved!!

Nice. I just ordered a 9 myself. Will be here on the 17th and already made plans to strip it, grind the thumb ramp down, add micarta and get a new set of pants for it.

I figured there would be some new stuff for '14 and more than one model for '15. I just have no idea what, just the one big awesome Becker colab that is looking like a 2015 release last I heard. But you'd know more about that than I would.

"BK14 ordered...am I done now?"
good luck on that one.. i thought i was done and now i am about 10+ deep.

In the summer here in Kentucky, i usually only take two cutting tools, a large wood processor, and a small. In the winter though, i always take four. I pack a small knife, a larger knife, a folding saw, and an axe. With the selection you currently have, your basically covered. Your 9 fills the role of my axe, your 14 will work for small carving chores and light wood processing, the 2 is a champ at batoning. The only weaknesses i see is a general use blade. What i call my primary blade is a knife with a 4-6 inch cutting edge. It's my most used cutting tool.
Either of the tweeners would fill that role perfectly.

The 9 does NOT fill the role of a decent size axe.

And done? Ha. You wish. It's a downward spiral from here.

Guess we have to agree to disagree then. I think if you look at my response, in relation to the original post, you will understand what i am saying. Fwiw, i use an axe and folding saw as my heavy wood processors.

Not to mention you probably are going to need
doubles of all so you can save one and mod the heck
out of the other..
