BK14 Sheath Dulling???

Hey Guys,
I recently bought my first Becker - The BK14. I have the new style sheath but it dulls the knife. I thought the newer style sheaths had fixed the problem??? Is there a way I can fix it? I would rather not have to buy custom Kydex. I have probably taken the knife out its sheath a few hundred times as I heard this could fix it but it didn't work. What do you guys suggest??

I know you said you'd rather not, but the best suggestion is really getting some kydex. It is probably cheaper than you think it is. Save yourself some time and grief IMO.

I remember my first bk14 thread...Nearly identical to this. I too have tried wearing down the sheath and it hasn't worked yet and I have been at it for a while. Buying a kydex sheath is definitely a good idea because you can find a great quality sheath for around $20 i think...I personally didn't want to go through the trouble and slapped a liner in the seatbelt cutter sheath you get with the Gerber LMF 2 and it works just fine :) I'm sure I'll be packing a kydex sheath soon though.

use a hacksaw blade or something to remove some plastic, or remove some metal ;)

there are 432 threads on this topic, a few of them even address how they fixed it.

though i'm tempted enough to see if i can't find a long rotary bit for my dremel and just remove a little plastic in one go, and see how that works.

If I were gold and sold stuff I'd be charging about 15 bucks a sheath for small blades, I'm sure theres someone out there who makes a good, affordable sheath. Just upgrade to kydex, although I gotta say that the factory sheath is actually pretty nice looking.

I did a search and didn't find any "how to" if you could send me a link to one I would greatly appreciate it.

here is your how to:

Pull knife from sheath
re-insert knife into sheath
