I recently got a BK14 and I like it, but HATE the sheath. The retention is good, but it's too big and rattles. I can't remold it because its not kydex, so any ideas on fixing the rattle? Thanks in advance.

Couple of options...
1) Dryer lint in the bottom
2) Foam ear plugs in the sheath
3) Procure a sheath from one of the local makers, we got a BUNCH that are Beckerheads
4) Order your own kydex and make your own
5) Order your own leather and make your own

You beat me to it.

I just got a new sheath for my BK14 from Azwelke a few minutes ago. I also have one of his for my Remora. They come highly recommended.

The retention/fit on my Godspeed! BK14 sheath is a work of art. He's got foldovers for that knife nailed.

Thanks for the recommendation!

If you do decide to go with Kydex my sheath is "different"? I also don't stop the sheath short of the scales and instead treat it like a larger knife by wrapping them and giving you a "Thumb-push"... it's also a smaller setup sizewise than anything else you'll see. Every other sheath I saw stopped short and I just like the feature of having the scales covered some. If you haven't gotten or considered the new scales that are out for them.... "Just Do It!" they're awesome and it's a really clean setup.

This is my "fix" for the: knife-dulling/rattling stock sheath:

I have tried the ear plugs on a BK14... no luck just did not allow the blade to retain the knife... soooo... What you need to do is heat up a pot of rolling boiling water and submerge the sheath... it wont get super soft like kydex but it will start to give... get a pair of vice grips and clamp under the retention point behind the choil... should tighten it up after it cools... you can also do this with the knife in it.

or your other solution will cost you a few bucks and its called Azwelke, 710, or Godspeed... I am probably missing a few but all nice sheaths.
