I dyed the grips with dark green RIT dye and it took super-fast. I went a little heavy on the dye in the water and left them in for about 45 seconds before I checked them and they were really dark. If anyone's got a set of Peanut Butter grips they want to send my way, I want to try again at getting the color right! Anyway, still looks cool and actually shows up more green in the daylight.

I am getting the dye tomorrow morning and doing my 17 with a light green
and hitting the sheath too!

Yeah, I was going to do the sheath too, but with the dye being really intense I decided to hold off and do it with another batch.

Damn, this is great news. I tried to dye KA-BAR's regular grivory scales and got nowhere. If the zytel is easily dye-able, then we are off to the races.

Very easy. The water was almost boiling and it took very fast. Once these can be had for sale I'll grab some more and try a few dye colors.

I didnt know you could dye plastic...Although nylon is plastic though right? Nice work man.

I actually like the Peanut Butter grips, and plan on slapping some purple liners on em. Peanut Butter Jelly Time!

it's kinda hard to dye black lighter.

I'm surprised it took the dye too! Very cool.

I'm fairly confident you could get orange to work, but you won't get the bright orange like the bk14 grips, since you're starting with a brown.

Maybe try going as white as you can, then dry it and go for blaze orange.

Kabar should offer white zytel grips, then we could dye them whatever color we wanted.
