I have been meaning to do this for a while.

2. Post a few pics of your favorite camping spot and setup.
That's it and thanks for making this forum the great place that it is.

Very generous of you sir. I've never actually owned a Kydex sheath, but I think it could be quite nice to try one out.

And I'll try to update this post here in the next two weeks with some photos, as I don't actually have any right now (particularly of my new hammock setup, which I've been quite enjoying).

EDIT: Partial entry.

Ok, I don't have any photos of the new hammock setup I have (made my own 12ft hammock out of 1.9oz desert tan ripstop nylon, and some spectra cord), or the new tarp (12x12 Kelty Noah, was on sale recently for $52). However, I may be able to get some up this weekend (family reunion is at some sort of "campground"), so I may be able to get the gear out for at least a photo shoot.

This though, is my favorite camping area. Sadly I live no where near it anymore. It was a 12-18 minute drive from my apartment in college, which meant it was super easy for my wife and I to decide to go camping on a moments notice. It was a great balance of proximity, beauty, and the "feeling" of isolation, without the need to travel for hours to get there. Now its a minimum of an hour and a half drive, and that place has bathrooms, and water at every campsite :/.

Not in. I am fortunate enough to have many of trailbum's sheaths. That being said, this thread needs pictures!

I need to get out more.

thanks for setting this up!

Well, I did camp at the island for 2 weeks once as a kid. So, if by staying aboard boats for days at a time qualifies, then I guess we camp on the water at places very much like this. Day and a half trips are my all-time favorite. Knives are always present.

It is already a stupendous season! I really, really want to get out there bad.
Thanks for your consideration!

I got back out there, it has been too long!

Well, I haven't setup camp this year on my land yet, been busy doing a bunch of other things. Will get it setup sometime in August the way things are going but as long as it's ready to go for hunting season, I'm good.
Here is a pic of me just starting to get it setup last year, this is where I camp most the time.

But my favorite camping spot is out west when I get drawn to hunt every 2-3 years.
Here's a couple pics.

So far I've camped solo but next year a buddy of mine will have the points to get drawn as well.

the "permacamp" in my back pasture -- because any time I need a break from the world, it's a 10 minute amble away.

Not the best but close so I can go there for quick "smoothing it" trips. Lots of wood equals lots of bushcrafty type opportunities. Fat wood is everywhere. Lake for fishing. Trails. Always multiple Beckers with me.

in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, great place to work the kinks out and have a brew or two.

My favorite spot has become the woods just West of Eugene, OR.
BeckerWest baby!!

Kerosene, I looked at those waterfalls, and Immediately thought of Arkansas!

My video was taped in Ponca Arkansas, way out off the trail. It was incredible!

Last summer at the North Canyon Campground on the Vallecito Reservoir in Colorado.

A late spring get away at Goose Island State Park in Rockport, Texas.

Here's my Becker content - and a recommendation for the Borracho beans if you have an HEB anywhere near you.

Set up trying to find a bit of relief from the wind. It helped a little, but not a lot.

While I may never make it back to Colorado, I'll definitely be heading back to GISP.

Agreed. That part of our country is amazing. I can just be on a trail for hours and hours and do nothing else and have the time of my life!

I'm in! Thanks for the chance TrailBum!

Whilst it may not be glorious, it's certainly not exotic but unfortunately I don't have much opportunity to get away. So I camp here..

..in my back yard! (No, I'm not twelve..). I just grab a few of my dogs beds, line em up, set up the brazier and settle in for some cooked meat and a nights worth of drinking and battling clouds of friggin' mozzies!

Again, whilst it's pretty lame, I'm near my wife and I get to have my little dogs right there with me. Ok, seriously guys, you can stop laughing now..

Oddly enough I just gave away my 15 to my brother-in-law as a gift (which he is over the moon with) so if I win, I'll be gifting him the sheath to go with his new knife. Once again, thanks for the chance TrailBum!

ETA: Tonight's backyard camp dinner. Homemade Rosemary, Garlic and Smoked Paprika Burger! Hot dang this thing was good!
