After a cool post by Jerry D...I decided to experiment on the extra set of scales that came with my bk15. I have 4 cans of Krylon Fusion paint laying around after doing some mods on some car interior panels etc. So...I grabbed the can of dark green, some blue painters tape and...

Went with 2 light coats and 1 firm coat of spray

All tape off. Paint not tacky..but Im still bored

So I added another light coat of spray for a mild subdued look I guess..

Let air dry for 5 hours, then onto the bk15...

Planning to give them a light sanding, and maybe another light coat of green..but they feel good..ie not sticky/tacky. Im gonna let it set for a couple of days then wack the scales with my bk2 and some other items to see how the paint holds up.

You are a rattle can artist!
Nice job.
Hopefully you don't drop it while in the woods.

Thanks guys ! Yeah I thought about the "what ifs", in the woods, and decided I'm gonna add an orange lanyard just in case lol

Looks good. I'll be curious to see if it stays dry or if moisture / usage makes it tacky again.

Thanks again guys for the compliments ! Yep Jerry D...I get to take one for the team, but they are an extra set so it wont kill me lol .

Well I have some ideas for some quick testing including bk2 pommel wacks, drops, mild heat, water, dirt bath, sweat and leather glove use.
If it holds up pretty well..Im thinking about buying some orange liners as a reward ;) . I will post pics of each test as well as the final outcome.

The testing sounds cool. I'll be watching for sure!

Well I do confess..that I was inspired to mod my BK2 (and paint my 15 scales) after seeing yours with the tigerstripes,
Haha, cool. There was someone on here, that taped their blade up on their BK2 like that, and just stripped part of it, to give it that effect.
