Even though it's the dead of winter here, food seems to taste exceptionally good this time of year; maybe it's a hibernation instinct.

Wanted to share a tasty spin on a classic meal; add liberal amounts of sweet mesquite dry rub seasoning to sweet Italian sausage and sweet baby peppers. Smoky, sweet and a little spicy. Cold beer is a must.

Ahhhh.... Love that knife.

Guyon,

My apologies, too late.

That bk15 keeps growing on me. May have to strip it to get the most out of its "slicability". The balance and feel is extraordinary.

The coating is a hindrance for slicing duties but at the same time I like the look of the black blade. I sanded down the rough coating of my 16 with some wet sandpaper. Much better slicer now.

I too had sausage and peppers albeit a more traditional sandwich. Nice spin on a classic. The leftovers can be converted to a jambalaya, if there are any!

That looks bloody lush - I'd eat the ass outta that. Nice blade as well of course.

Hi cEdge:

Thats a really good idea to wet sand the bumps off the coating, still have some corrosion protection without the roughness. I have lots of grits available. If I may ask, what grit(s) do you recommend?

Nothing crazy, 240 grit wet should do the job. It should smooth the high points fairly well. Beware of the spine, even wet the sandpaper will remove the paint very quickly off the edge

Someone posted pics in another thread after using 400 grit. It was almost like a black mirror.

this thread just reminded me I was supposed to go pick up some sausages to do this, guess I'm going to have to wait for the weekend, looks delicious.
