Hi Ethan, thank you for making these knives. I've been waiting for them for a long time and I think they could very well meet my expectations for the "perfect knife". I plan to buy both as soon as they become available.

My request...I would like a plastic sheath equal to the current sheath that comes with the BK2. The same design just scaled down to fit these new smaller knives.

Is a plastic sheath in the works or a posible option for these knives?

At this time, I have not heard a single thing about any sheath, but the ones that are pictured here.

I am planning on sending out 3 of each type as soon as I can get them, to our local BKT sheath makers, Azxwelke, Godspeed, MWTIC, and others, to build patterns off of. NO, ya'll don't get to keep them, so, that way, when these hit the market, if you want a kydex sheath, the will be available.

ETA- the BK16/17 will not fit in the hard plastic sheaths that kabar is making for the 3/4's.

y'all in a fugue after touching one.

i was pondering lending out my BK15 to certain sheathy people, but we'll see if there's a formal run of that happening already :)
 
The sheath that comes with the BK16/17 is actually quite good, much better IMO than the nylon sheaths that come with the BK7/9

I'm not crazy about the factory sheath so I guess I'll have to find an alternate.

I wonder how the BK17 would fit in the short kabar leather sheath, the black one?
