I have entered for my request for my beckerhead number! To celebrate, I will be buying another Becker!

Now, down to the questions. BK16 or BK17? I am torn between these two models. Also, does someone have one of these that they are willing to let go cheap?

I don't have one to sell but I vote bk16 hands down.

Then again its a becker so you will be happy no matter what.

BK-16! The 17 is a little showier, but the 16 is the performer.

16 - keep your eyes on the Exchange, they can be had relatively inexpensively. There was one on there already customized with a companion 14 for short money....but you gotta be quick, or they disappear. Good luck, and congrats on your BH# application.

I'm with Zieg and Kentwood. Buy em all. Especially the 15, since it's discoed. I bought 4. Kinda wishing I'd picked up a few more. Soo slicey. I do admit to not having a 17 yet though. 16 is a great knife, but I don't think I'll carry it if I can carry a 15. Really can't believe how much I love the trailing points.

I take my 16 into the woods, and use my 15 almost daily in the kitchen. But plenty of overlap between the two. They are great knives. I don't have a 17, not a fan of clip points.

I initially thought I'd love the bk17. Then I got a chance to try the bk17, and realized that what I actually wanted was the bk16.

I now own a bk15 and bk16. The bk17 will only be joining then if I find one on a crazy sale.

I love my 17. The slightly thicker blade balances it favorably in my hand, and it's a stout little blade- I'd say the tip is as strong as, if not stronger than, the 16, if that matters. Have all of the tweeners, but I've only used my 15 and 17, I'm not enamored with my 16. YMMV

BF answer; Get both.
Beckerhead answer: Get two of each.
Beckerhead Emeritus answer: Get two of each Tweener - a keeper and a user.

My personal opinion: seeing as I have, use and adore the 15, the 17 is of little additional function to me. That said, it does not preclude me in the least from enjoying the Sweet 16[/I ] as I have become fond of calling it. While the 15 is still my favorite Tweener, the 16 is just such a handy dandy blade shape - well balanced and just the right size that I readily understand its following.

Do I like the 17? Of course, but if only having two Tweeners, my vote goes for the 15 and 16. As between the 16 and 17 ... that's easy, the 16. I don't want to say Show Horses versus Work Horses because it could seem disparaging against the 17 ... but I am still a little bit tempted to use that phase nonetheless.:cower:

It depends on what the intended purpose is. If your looking for a woods type knife then the 16 all the way. If your looking for an edc then 16 all the way. If your looking for a hunting knife then 16 all the way... Hang on a sec... I'm getting the feeling you should go with the 16

16... one of the best all rounders out there. Then if you decide you want a clip point, you can always mod it! :D
