Hey guys, i've really been looking lately for a one-stop-shop woods blade. I have been looking at the bk16, the TOPS BOB, and the bk10. I thought about the esee 4, but I have fairly large hands, and from what i've heard the esee 4 has a small handle. Anyways, this knife will primarily be for bushcraft, setting snares, carving around the campfire, some batoning and possibly some very light prying. Thoughts? Comments? all are welcome and appreciated.
thanks guys.:D

The 16 would work well for everything you mentioned, except prying. For it's size the blade is stout BUT it's not a pry bar by any definition. The ONLY "knife" I pry with is a BK3.

I've been suspicious of the BK16 ever since a guy broke the tip off of one prying in some tough wood. He was over on the Becker Forum asking advice on how to re-profile his knife. He said he had done something outside of what was reasonable for the BK16, but I wonder what he would think about "light prying." It would probably be okay if it was "light enough," but how would you know. I'd be reluctant to trust it.

Yeah, to be absolutely safe especially if you were prying metal get a BK3, but if one was prying only in wood, then a BK2 would do it, surely. But you who sometimes go out on your ranch packing twin BK2s would know that better than I do. :). I'm not sure about the BK10, but it probably would as well. What do you think?

Twin Beckers for sure but never twin BK2s. :D The 10 would pry better than the 16 and is just a little less stout than the 2, but I'd still only pry with a 10 or 16 if a life depended on it.
Too liable for bending in my opinion.

I don't need any metal boomerangs. :D:D

All great knives. The 16 is my personal favorite though. I do like the BK-10 as well but it is a lot larger knife. The ESEE 4 is great but you are right, the handle is smaller and in my opinion, not nearly as comfortable as the 16. The BOB is a cool knife but again, not as comfortable as the 16 for me and the weight and balance of the blade are kinda weird for me. It is a really nice knife just not my favorite over the others.

Here is a pic of my stock BK-10, My modded BK-10, one of my many BK-16's, my ESEE 4, and my TOPS BOB.
