I can't help it. This knife feels phenominal in my hand. Forthcoming mods will include a strip, enlarged choil, and convex. I'll update the thread as they progress. Regards - WB

Very nice pics. I like that saber grind, but I'm more than happy to wait for the FFG version when they debut. I like that sheath too

Nice. How deeps the etching?

Moose

You know, it's hard to say. It feels and looks fairly deep but I know that with the coating, that can be deceiving. I'm banging out sick from work on Thursday so I can get started on this thing. I'm interested to see how the etching will look after she's stripped. I've owned a lot of Beckers, loved everyone, but this one is different. You know what I'm saying.

Does it have the new coating?

hard to tell in the pics.....

It looks the same as the last 14 that I bought. It should be noted however, that I always strip mine immediately, so I don’t pay much attention to the coating. You're gonna be whipping up some of those outstanding liners for these, I assume?

Liners will be made for sure brother....

I will be getting my BK16 thursday

i'm sure after stripping, some 400 grit sandpaper will lighten out and smooth that etching :>

If the text is easy to take off seriously considering moving this thing's status from shelf knife to frequent user, I'm anxious to see everyone's mod threads.

I am agreeing with you on this one, Bowie. I can't wait to see what everyone does with theirs.

Very nice. Thanks for the pics. Mine is on its way. I really like that sheath as well is it custom?

Enlarged choil, what the heck for? Do you think Mr. Becker did it wrong?

Please, don't turn this in to a choil vs. no choil thread. That subject has been beat to death and then some. Everyone uses a knife differently. That is the nature of a tool. Mr. Becker didn't do anything wrong in the design of this knife. If you’ve never modified a Becker to suit your personal uses, you may not be using it the way that it was intended. Of course, this is just my opinion, obviously.

Nice pics. What sheath is that?

Thanks. It's just a homemade leather sheath. Nothing fancy.

All I gotta say is "About two more weeks!"....

BK-16 FFG....Just gotta put that money in the safe and wait. Been this long. Two weeks should be a piece of cake. Plus, being laid off now, the days are FLYING by!! I'm used to getting up at 4:50. Now I get up at 7:00 to get the kiddies ready for school and see the wife off. I don't feel like I've done anything and it's already almost 11:00. Two weeks will be gone before you know it.

Did those scales come with it? Are they just brown grivory? They look nice. I painted a set of mine that sme brown a while back for my bK9 but it started to wear pretty quick even with a matte clear coat.
