I understand that Becker changed the grind of the BK16 from a regular flat type anlong the lines of the BK2 to a full height grind quite early on but is the original grind still avalible?

I'm keen on getting my first Becker and the size of the 16 looks perfect but I'm prefering the original grind...

Thanks for the info

unfortunatly few BF memebers like shipping overseas but i might get lucky....

Maybe take a look at SMKW they are the ones that sold all the fpr ones. I was under the impression they still had some.

The FPR versions that are etched with First Production Run as well as Ethans Signature are still available last time I checked at Smoky Mountain Knifeworks. In fact they had gotten even more in.

This is true. And to think Derek was so bent on having a sterile one when he could have just called up SMKW and asked if they had one they hadn't murdered yet. :p

I've got one of the saber-ground FPR16's. It's a great knife. But having used the FFG 16 alongside the sabered model, I have to say that the FFG makes for a better knife. You can get it very, very sharp and the blade geometry seems to make bushcraft tasks easier.

Not that I would get rid of my FPR16, though. The Saber16 still a great knife, and I would have been very happy with it if Ka-bar hadn't switched the 16 to the FFG. The only problem with FPR knives is the stupid laser engraving they vandalized them with. I minimized the engraving by Cliching the blade, so it's not so noticeable now.

I got one of the Saber-16s. I actually really like it. If I'm looking for something FFG around that size I'm going to grab my 11/14. The blade isn't THAT much bigger on the 16. I probably will grab a FFG16 eventually, but right now I have no need for it.

These men speak the truth !!! SMKW. First Production Run. Get you some !!!! Before you cant.

SMKW is on their second "first production run" as far as I'm concerned, there were only supposed to be 250 of each, now I can probably wait till next summer and pick up 50 of each with more left for others...
