Hey guys, I was curious if any of you had any ideas you can throw at me, I would like to mod my BK16 stock sheath for scout carry, I dont want put money into a brand new sheath just yet. Any and all ideas are welcome!

If you could stretch the molle loops you could probably get a belt through them or just sew new loops on to it

Well, the sheath is setup to compatible with just about everything. I would look into 3 1" wide velco straps, just run them through the molle loop on the back, and there you go.

I like that idea moose. I actually think I have some Velcro straps laying around also. Ill set that up tonight as I'm stripping my 16 and 9

Let us know how it turns out. The only thing I don't like about velcro, is, when you are moving through the woods, and pushing through underbrush, it can get loud, but, hell, you're pushing through underbrush, so, who cares.

That and it wears out quickly if you keep doing and undoing it.

Finished my sheath, Added a bungie cord and some velcro straps in the back I'm really happy with the way it turned out,Feels good to. Sorry about the pics I just took some snapshots from my phone uploadfromtaptalk1348270068642.jpg

i think scout carry is horizontal carry. that was a neat idea to put that loop for the scout carry.

dramos,

are you into JSA? your avatar.. i'm not sure if you are into JSA or if that is john belushi samurai.. i have shodan in kendo, i'm sure most JSA guys won't consider that as JSA. did some iaido, but i don't have any patience or grace to carry that.. same reason why i couldn't do chang style tai chi. all hard styles, brute force things.. not that i have much of brute force at 5' 10" and 145 lbs. lol

I really like this mod. I've been wearing a thinner belt and jamming it in-between the straps already there but this system looks simple yet very functional. I have a couple extra sheaths I might just try something similar. Thanks for the mod pic's

So far it working out and it feels comfortable. But I would have to say the bungie cord is a must though.
