Well, it's official...I'm in love with this thing. I had to get the micarta scales, replace the handle screws with stainless steel ones and I made a pair of (dvd case) inserts so now it fits my hand just perfect, heck I even made a leather sheath for it. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Thanks WolfmanZack, Moose for your help and Mr. Becker for designing such a great knife. I'm certain there is no such thing as a perfect knife but man...this thing is the closest thing to it IMO.

great job on the handles and sheath. the red dvd case was a good choice. I've never heard of doing that before but I guess the sky is the limit.

That is a great looking sheath. I love the 16 as well. I just picked up a 2nd one so I'd have a spare in my car at all times. I put some liners on mine w/ micarta and I agree the grips are just about perfect that way. I'm still using the stock sheaths though. Need to decide on an upgrade.

The stock sheath is just perfect, I just had to but I don't think it's that necessary like the bk2 or bk14.

Gorgeous knife! You did a great job on the sheath.

Nice leatherwork! How did you mold it, if you don't mind me asking?
I'm totally with you on the 16 and that after I had it laying around for months when it just didn't talk to me. I first had to remove the coating and put a patina on to discover it's real beauty :)

Very good looking sheath, it is very elegant in it's simplicity and clean lines. I ordered a 16 and some micarta scales this weekend and I am salivating waiting for them to arrive! I've already gotten a shipment notification for the scales, but not the 16. It is going to be torture to sit and look at the scales with no knife.....

It's called wet forming, it's easier than it looks. Long story short, one of the following two...either I couldn't afford or didn't like what was out there so I decided to learn how to make my own leather stuff. This is my 7th knife sheath, I've made one for almost all my knives. Thanks for the kind words.

It definitely has taken on a full on custom look, great job! I keep forgetting to pick up ss hardware.

Yeah, I need some SS for my 16, 9 and 2

Nice sheath and mods. I think though I might leave the coating on for a bit longer on mine.
