BK16 without FFG

Where do I get one?
Do all the production models have a full flat grind?

I was looking for something similar to the BK2, but smaller and lighter. Can anyone suggest and alternative?

AFAIK the saber ground 16s were "pre production" only, so you'll likely have to buy a used one from someone.

I just received my BK16 today, and think it's an awesome little knife that will perfectly compliment my BK2. I wouldn't let the FFG deter you from buying a BK16, as I think it's actually better for what the knife is intended for.
 
Smokey mountain knife works was the one selling them. I'm not sure if they still have any. All of those ones are roll stamped and have laser etching for the fpr and ethans signiture. I know moose had some without the laser etching but I am unsure if he still has any. Hope that helps.

SMKW has some left. I was by there on Wed. As for Moose, I bought the last of his preproductions 2 weeks ago. I was able to get a first production BK-17 w/o laser etching. I am putting together something for my boys as a gift.

Hope you find what you are looking for.

Smoke in the wind, I'm afraid.

Some were sold at SHOT Show. Some were provided to us mods. The rest went to SMKW and were etched with E's signature.

Thats all there was.

Easy peasy. If it is a user, then it's no big deal, as stated S mountain KW has them in stock. They just have the laser etching on them. They are sabre grind. Yes they are fancy, but so what, a user is a user. Better to have one & not need it, than to need one & not have it ! :D

To see how many they do have in stock:
click on "add to cart"
type in the exact model #---ex: KABK16S
type in 300 for the amount
click on "apply"

That is weird. Their number were much lower back right before the gathering. Somewhere around 109 or something. Where did they get more from? Or did they have more than they were letting on beforehand?
 
That is odd.

As for the etching, once you strip the blade, it's mostly not noticeable. If it's going to be a user, that's what I'd get and then strip and sand.
 
Im thinking about picking up a FPR 16. I dont care much fo the etching, it would get stripped within 3 hours anyway.

I know, right ? They actually got down to 62 right before i left on fri for the gathering.. I was gonna drop the hammer quick if Toooj couldn't dig one up around the shop. Some secret squirrel stuff was mentioned. Then all of a sudden, bam, the numbers went back up. Only the insiders know the real deal. We can only speculate as to why that happened. I think they had more to begin with, but maybe only listed xxx amount, thinking they may sell quicker, maybe ???? I really don't know. But thats the best i can come up with. Either way, Sabre grind junkies unite, get them while you can
