Just a little something to keep me busy and let me play with some blades..Nothing special, but im enjoying the fun.... the one on the left was my first bead ever LMAO I made it with the 17, I used a screw by hand and made the hole, I used the edge of the knife to smoothed the edges... And opened the hole up more with the pointy end of the 17.....the right side, or top one, is the new one, and its better than the first one if nothing else! But on this one I used the BK14, I smoothed the edges with a small sharpening stone and this time I used a small electric screw driver to make the hole, but after breaking a couple I learned to make the hole before shaping them up, because there isnt much left to drill the hole in when im finished smoothing them out.

Thanks man!

It started as an excuse to use my knives more while in the house, but im actually enjoying making them. It would be quick and easy with a band saw, belt sander, and drill press..... But with a knife its more fun :D

Hey Worldwood.......

Inside dirt time is never as good as outside dirt time BUT, inside dirt time builds skills that make REAL dirt time ever so much better...... Good on ya........

Thanks for the excuse to rant....... Like this post.....

Thanks Ethan!

Your post reminds me of an old sensei I use to have... he use to always say, Practice to proficiency :D

The more you use a blade the better you become with said blade.

That old sensei could wield a knife like nobodies business, he could spin them thru his hands like the actors in the films with ease. When someone would ask him for tips on using an edged weapon he would say, first you must learn to hold the weapon as one, way before you ever become one with the weapon. His idea of "becoming one with the weapon" was holding the weapon straight out in your hands with your arm extended, not moving, just barely breathing for 60 minutes straight, no moving.. might sound easy but try standing with your arms extended wide open for 60 minutes... even with nothing in your hand, your arms get heavy.... A knife quickly becomes an anvil in your hand LMAO.

I never got anywhere near as good as he was, but his point was solid, the more comfortable you are with a knife the better you are using it.
