On my first outing with the BK17, the top bolt fell out at some point and was never to be seen again. Not a big deal since I wanted to replace them with stainless steel hardware anyway. While putting the new hardware in, I noticed that one of the scales will not sit flush with the tang at the top. When you tighten the fastener, the threads come out the other side so far they rub against your hand. This happens with both the factory set and the ss set, so I know it is not due to getting the wrong size. At the factory, rather than correcting the fitment problem, they just threaded the bolt in a little bit so it wouldn't rub against your hand....and subsequently it fell out on my first outing.
I am going to try the other set of scales and see if they have the same problem. If so, I will just grind the bolt down by a few threads so they are tight but do not rub against my hand.
