Here is a BK17 that I acid etched and put some micarta handles on. Also am building a sheath now.

This is how the BK17 arrived to me.

Here is after I etched the blade and was working the top and the bottom of the scales. This is the dry fit up and check.

Tonight I cut the leather out, and started dyeing the leather. Hopefully get more of it done tomorrow. Thanks for looking guys.

Looks good! Don't these bolts mess up the micarta when they get too hot while sanding?

Nice work man.

Thanks

Good looking scales. Can't wait to see the final package.

Thanks

Nice job. What kind of bolts are those on the scales?

Thanks, they are stainless steel Loveless bolts. Bob Loveless invention.

Thanks, if you try to sand in one spot too long the bolts can discolor the micarta, but it really is not an issue at all. Just work all parts of the knife, I use course belts, to round and flat files, and lots of sandpaper.

Nicely done redmech

Thanks
