Hey Y'all...

I normally reside over at the KA-BAR forum and had proposed to Toooj et.al. a 5-1/4" knife based on the outstanding Mk1 Navy offering.

It was advanced to development, and then later dropped in committee. (no doubt Marketing)

The blade-form was based on a flat-grind version of the Fallkniven S1, which is pretty close to the BK7 or clipped-point BK17...

So it occurred to me that a 5-1/4" version (BK18) of that knife would be about right.

As y'all lack an "Ask Ethan" sticky... I figured to ask the community instead.

BK18...?

This is what was proposed to the KA-BAR folks...

Thanks.

Yeah, I'd be in for some long-bladed Tweeners. Can you imagine a Magnum BK-17 with a 7" blade? I'd be all over that in a heartbeat.

But as to the OP, a flat ground clip-point with a 5 1/4" blade using the Tweener handle? I'd buy one for sure. On a full-sized grip, it would basically be a BK-10 with a flat grind, which again, I would buy in a heartbeat.

not a bad design...maybe suitable for the BK19. ;)

Wait--BK-19? Have I missed a memo about a BK-18 or something? Spill, man! I'm out of the loop!

Im a sucker for stacked leather handles>>>that one looks absolutely great!
