BK2 and a Piggyback Setup

Hi Gents,

Long time outdoors-man and hunter. I decided I finally need a good survival knife that is outside the limited scope of all the hunting, skinning knives I use. I am buying the BK2 (should be here any day) and I have read and read and read all about the knife and the sheath issues.

Here is are my real main questions:

I want to do a piggypack sheath setup with a BK14 over my BK2. Anyone have any ideas how to do this without buying a new sheath? I have read a lot on the mods ( I am not yet ready to make my own Kydex..not yet but maybe soon).

If not, anyone have any ideas about a horizontal cross draw setup (not SOB but in front of my waist) that will also be a piggyback?

Lastly, I do not quite understand the stock sheath. Do I need to buy anything additional to have it hang below my belt or does it give you the option to do either, clip directly to belt or hang?

Thanks all,

David

I've got a BK2 with an Izula piggybacked, both with stock sheaths using para cord. Ill get a pic of it later today.

That looks great.

How well does the setup work for you using the paracord? Does it have a lot of play in the rig?

You're right. It does look great.

I think that I might try using tightly pulled tie-wraps instead of paracord. But that is just me... :)

It works fine for me. there is a little bit of play, but it doesn't loosen up any.

That's sweet. Gonna give it a go. Anyone on the boards making custom sheaths?

And what do you mean by tie wraps...ya mean like zip ties?

UPDATE:

I ordered the BK14 and Esse 5 pouch. I'll post some pics of how the setup came out.

Thanks

David

You should post this up on the Becker Knife and Tool forum as well, those guys know their mods, really, really, well. And they're crazy.
