I have a custom sheath for my bk2 but decided to get a tec loc for the factory sheath just to give me some options.
Well got it today and installed it on the sheath with no issues at all. I is a nice firm solid mount and I have no problems with that at all. Where my problem is, does anyone have any hints on how to get the thing off my belt with out removing my belt. That I am having a big problem with.

^That's exactly how it's done, but may take some practice while wearing it. Carrying horizontal would be easier on and off than vertical because you have to flip it up. Handle will most likely dig into your side. All depends on where and how you're carrying it.

Thanks, my problem is that the lock lever is so tight I need a small screwdriver to pry it down. I hope it will loosen up if I ever give it any use. While I do like it I will most likely be sticking to my custom sheath most if not all of the time.

It will loosen up with use. When I got my tec loc for my 16 cross draw sheath it was really difficult to pull the gate lock down enough to disengage the gate. After a few dozen times it loosened up a bit. And after a few times wearing it and removing it I learned how to unlock it with minimal effort.
Just takes some practice and patience.

On a similar note. If I found I wasn't going to be wearing the knife for an extended period, I won't even close the gate lock, just allowing the tightness of the "click in" of the gate itself to be "the only lock." But this technique requires constant awareness that the gate lock is open and not engaged.
I went a whole day at BeckerWest one year with the gate lock open and never had an issue.
