BK2 & BK10 sheaths

No, I don't think they will fit the same sheath. The BK-10 Crewman is quite a bit thinner than the BK-2 Campanion, and with a different blade profile.

That's what I was afraid of. I see that type of sheath everywhere. Is there a good place to find an aftermarket? The only dimensions I've seen on the BK10 are its length and thickness. Any place I can see the whole package, or better yet see a picture of the BK10 & BK2 side by side?

Biscuits,

There is a place in Spokane, WA called Tactical Tools (http://www.tacticaltools.com) that will make a nice custom BK7/9/10 type sheath for any knife for about $50. They may only be available in black, however -- you'd have to contact them to see if they have any other colors.

They made one for my BK1 Brute about a year ago and did a nice job and were quite courteous and helpful. In order to get a tight fit on your blade, you need to send them your knife. They will make a guess based on an outline tracing of your knife along with the blade thickness and handle circumference dimensions, if you want.

This is the route I went, since I was in somewhat of a hurry. As a result, the fit could be better. They did say if I had any problems, I could send the knife and sheath back to them together and they would snug it up for me. I may take them up on it in the future.

As an aside, the stock sheath that came with my Brute was totally messed up. The snap straps were so long that they did not even touch the handle. In fact, they were SO long that you could draw the knife up and out of the sheath -- through the snapped strap -- without ever touching it. It was like it was sized to go around something about the diameter of a Coke can. I attempted to shorten it myself (because I needed it ASAP for a trip) but got into further problems and ended up just deciding to scrap it.

I called Camillus Customer Service and told them about the mess. The lady generously offered to sell me a replacement for sheath for MORE than I paid for the knife and sheath together new (hmmm, thanks, but no thanks)! Lesson learned for the 57'th time: Never accept scrap from a supplier, and do not attempt to correct their problems yourself, no matter how minor or big a hurry you may be in. Make them take responsibility!

At any rate, I then started looking for a custom maker and found Tactical Tools would make the other type of sheath for me for much less. On the up side, I like this kind better anyway because of the pouch among other things.

Minuteman,
Thanks for your reply. That nylon/kydex rig is just about what I was looking for. I was hoping to pay a little less than 50 bucks. I did see a nice birthday present for my brother the pistolero.
Thanks,
Biscuits
