I put this together as a gift for my brother. I gave a him a Mora last Christmas and it's been on his belt ever since (so I know he uses and appreciates it).

He's commented on a few of my knives and sheath rigs when we've been camping, so I wanted to put together a nice "hard use" setup for him.

I love my Beckers, but I'm equally fond of my ESEEs, too...especially the Izula. After deciding the BK2 and BK24 would be a good all-around pair, I started thinking how to piggyback them together using the standard BK2 and BK24 sheaths.

Now, I know I could have purchased some nice custom Kydex to make this work, but I'm cheap (or resourceful, depending how you look at it). I stripped both sheaths, and laid out all the random hardware, spacers, and other sheath pieces I had laying around; my Alien Gear holsters have been a great source for extra hardware for projects like this :)

After spending about 45 minutes trying different ways to mount it, I finally figured out a way to secure it and still make sure both blades were easily accessible. Using nothing more than some spacers, screws and posts, I was able to make it work.

I also found the belt clip from my ESEE 6 sheath was an exact fit to swap the nylon belt loop on the BK2 sheath, so I decided to swap those as well (he can change it back if he prefers the nylon belt loop instead of the clip).

Anyway, here are some pics of the finished product:

I'm very pleased with how it turned out. It also made the retention more positive on the BK24, so there's no rattling or looseness on either knife. The best part, though, is it didn't cost me a penny (other than the cost of the knives :)).

Oh man, that looks great! What a lovely set-up!

Thanks gmoney! :)

I'm actually surprised how well it turned out. When I initially checked the BK24 sheath, it seemed impossible since none of the holes lined up, but those bottom two made it possible.

I'm a big fan of piggyback rigs - best of both worlds: larger blade for batoning/chopping and wood processing, smaller blade for food prep, skinning, gutting, whittling etc.

I've made similar setups for my ESEE 6 w/ Izzy, Junglas w/ Izzy, and soon to be my BK9 w/ another BK24 (when I get my kydex for it).

You're gonna have to replace your worn suspenders to prevent bottom-out in rough terrain. :D
