Stripped, "Fisked", squared up the spine, patina and yes, he wanted the notch. This one is headed for the sand box, hope it serves him well.

Put a set of Flexxx's liners on too.

What do you wanna bet he slips that notch under something on a vehicle or something and then pries downward with that notch in contact with a fulcrum? Cutting through something solid?

Fingers? :D

Nice work Tradewater!

Looks great Trade! I'm not sure what the use of the notch would be other than the traditional pot lifter kinda thing. Depends on his MOS and how remote he'll be. Let us know the use if you can when you find out.

Its a good looking knife, I'm sure he will enjoy it as well as give it a good workout over there. The more I see stripped BK2s the more I want to strip mine.

Good on you, trade. Putting a WMD on someone's belt is a good thing.

what finish did you put on that sucker?

It's just the standard mustard patina. It's all I had in the house that I knew would work. Crappy pics, but it looks pretty good in person.

One interesting thing though, I swear the grind is different on this knife. It is thinner and has different tool marks than any of the other BK2s I've had. I wonder if they're doing something new at the factory. If they are, I'm impressed with it. I really liked the grind on this knife. I might ask Toooj about it.

several people i know are being sent home early. mmm... i wonder.

That's great! Now, you need to tell the Soldier that he needs to provide 'post deployment' pictures of it once he gets back, and let you know how he ended up using in over there. I think a lot of people would be surprised at the kind of things a Soldier's knife ends up getting used for.
