My twin brother is giving me a Marlin 30-30 and he is having is scoped for me so I thought naturally what could I give him that is of quality in both thought and of use....

a BECKER BK2!!

What's funny is I emailed him SEVERAL knife styles and brands including RANGER, Ontario, ESEE, and few from the BECKER line, and of course he chose the BK2. Good genetic pool !! :D It will be in my grasp for all of 2 weeks from the time I recieve it until the time I give it away. There will be a LOT of fondling ;)

Good on you for getting your brother such a useful tool.

BTW the Marlin 30-30 is an absolute classic.
Some folks will tell you that it's a shame to scope a .30-30, what with it being 150-yard gun at best.
Not anymore though. With some of the new loads like Hornaday's Leverevolution, a .30-30 can now reach out and touch some game.
Mine is scoped, but I did go with a smaller Leupold 1-4x20 that gives the gun better balance IMO.

Guyon -- Nice photo. But not a Becker in sight. What are the knives? Looks like two or three Busse (not sure of the largest one) and is that a Dusty Moulton Loveless inspired drop point on top? Nice gear, anyway.

That's an old photo. I posted it up in Busse back when I posted in Busse. :p
The top knife is a Geno Denning custom hunter.

Good choice of knife there Bush! It sounds like the both of you got some good taste in blades!

Beautiful knife. I had to look Geno Denning up. But just looking at the photo I could tell he was from the George Herron school of knifemaking. And according to my quick Googling, the number one disciple. Very elegant work, steel and leather. You have a great collection.

Now we need a photo of your Marlin with say, a stripped and micarta handled BK-2, on a rustic backdrop. I shouldn't say need, since we can't demand anything from you. I can almost picture it, though, and it would be nice. Thanks again for the photos.

Geno's wife, Cindy, used to post here on BFC all the time.
Sadly (for BFC), she decided that it was best she leave the community.

Derek--my brother does not know much about knives and fell in love with the BK2 as soon as I showed it to him. He will love it.
Guyon--Great pics bro! My thoughts concerning scopes are that unless you are a great shot you should always use a scope if for no other reason but to help dispatch the animal quickly. 120 yard shot for a novice = a chance for putting an animal into misery for a long time.
