BK2 Gen. 2 Sheath fix...

Just got my first Becker, a BK2. As soon as I held it I knew it was just what I needed, a great chopper small enough to ride on my belt. However the sheath leaves a bit to be desired. First of all the kydex was so tuff It was very uncomfortable to pull out the knife. I fixed that by using a heat gun and slightly expanding the closure area, its perfect now. But then without warning the entire strap popped off when I crawled in my RZR, guess it torqued a bit on it when I sat down, but still it should have been able to withstand more than that.

I found some 2 sided Velcro and, wife sewd it on. Actually like it MUCH better than the snap. Easy now with one hand in and out.

Technicality-Nazi side: The stock BK2 sheath is glass reinforced nylon, not kydex.
 
That happened to mine as well. I'll have to look for some Velcro. Thanks for the idea!
 
I love the bk2. It's so bad ass I handed mine to lady in a wheelchair and she was able to walk afterwards. It's incredible knife. Just wish I had more time to use it.
 
New Member, and should be on here a a lot hopefully. I love seeing all the mods, etc. I've been noticing a few differences with the sheaths for the BK2 I've been seeing. I think it may be dealing with the Gen1 and Gen2 differences. But, on some standard sheaths I am seeing a "buckle/clip" at the top of the belt loop where it goes on the belt, and others I am not seeing it. I basically have no problem with the knife or the sheath itself (even though I am sure I will do some mods eventually) but I am wanting to wear mine drop leg style and was just wondering why the buckle is present on some and not on others? and would the buckle make it easier to make it drop leg? I am thinking of getting the drop leg extender by I think, blackhawk I found on Amazon. Any thoughts? or should I just man up and make it all myself? LOL Thanks
 
OP I really wouldn't worry about little tiny surface defects.
Welcome to the forum desperado970. The Bk2 come with GLASS reinforced nylon sheath. Its a nice sheath but if you care about your edge buy a kydex or leather sheath.
