So As far as I'm concerned my BK2 Hunter is finished. It's rough but that's okay. The rough edges will smooth with use and I've shaped it to fit my hand. It is mine pure and simple. I skipped quite a few steps since my last post but all of that was shaping and sanding so use your imagination. I know I did.
So here's the before shot, just some scale scratching in the Grivory to add grip.
It was important to make sure that I could still use Nick's leather. Doesn't rattle at all.
Artsy image. Warrior has nothing to fear from my crummy picture taking.
I rubbed wax into the marrow area of the antler to keep water out so it won't get in there and freeze.
The final product with my Dad's Western that he used on pheasant, squirrel, rabbit, or anything else that needed cleaning and his Ontario that sat in the Combine for 30 years being used to cut corn and bean stalks that clogged the header out or beat on a rock that was stuck in it if necessary...lots of character. Hopefully mine will develop a similar character over the next 30 years of hunting.
Thanks for looking,
Clark
