BK2 Imperfect

I was looking at my new BK2 tonight and I noticed that there is an imperfection in the blade. I have a dent or notch, barely noticeable, but I am a somewhat anal perfectionist. Is there anything that I can do about this? I was just wondering from the BK community. Thanks a lot for all your help. Other than this I am very happy with this huge hunk of steel!

They aren't meant to be perfect. They are tools, like hammers, you won't notice that imperfection once you get some battle scars. Those scars are badges of honor my friend.

Put several more imperfections on the blade and you probably won't notice that one........Damn imperfections, now you gotta use it! :D

Ok....I guess that they are tools. I know about messing up tools that cost good money being an automotive technician, but I am also a knife collector, so its hard.

I collect knives as well. But, to me, the Beckers are the knives that get used. Scratching the coating is nothing to these knives, like breaking in a pair of jeans. You will like the knife more as it gets used. Doesn't mean you are abusing it, that coating was made to wear off, so the rest of us know you are using it.
I don't collect many knives, I have some limited editions, and some I've just never used much. But, use the Becker, unless you got one of those polished/micarta handles from Chestnut Ridge Knife Shop. Those are polished, like mirrors I tell ya!

Take it to the woods and use it like you stole it. You'll fall in love. Imperfections and all.

Becker knives are high quality knives. They are also a very good value. However they are not perfect, nor would I expect them to be(nothing is anyway). If they were closer to perfect, they would not be as affordable. Owners would also be less likely to use them as they were intended(beating them through logs and such).

Anyway, the "love marks" you put on the spine the first time you baton w/ it add character. It's a reminder to me of how well this edge holds up as I beat it through stuff.

Forget about "collecting it" and go use it, as they are very dangerous if starved for wood.:D

Yea ... just use it. I got my BK2 and hated to put the 1st scratch on it. Once I got past that point it was all good. It can take a lick so go use it.....

When my first Becker arrived (BK2) I looked at it for a while and marveled over its utilitarian look and hefty feel. I then walked out to the wood pile and attacked the wood like a crazed beaver. Then I split some red oak with it. When I was finished, it looked even better to me all scuffed up.

Use it like you stole it!!!!! You be be happy!!!!! That is all.

take some pictures of it :) show us... then use it.

if you collect, and you're going to have safe queens only, sure, i'd be annoyed. so use that one, and buy another one :)

use it good :)

Are you perfect? If so, send me the knife, I'll use it. If not, then enjoy the heck out of it.

like they all said. My knives have plenty of dents, scratches, and marks. Kinda adds character.

I have a crappy camera, I cannot get a good pic of it. I just have a dent in the blade and I have not used it.
