About 6 months ago I got a BK2 from Jeff S1 here on the forums in trade. Up til last Friday I just handled it and messed with it. Well Friday comes and the wife and i decide that we are going to have some drinks around the table (which has a firepit in it). Being in a metro area, i didnt have any wood to gather persay so, i got a bundle of seasoned hickory from the local home depot. The logs were way to big to get a fire started so, i had an idea....baton it w/ the BK2! I batoned 2 of the logs completely in half then in smaller pieces w/ the BK2 and another log as a beater. Again, this was seasoned hickory so it gave me quite a work out. On the final strike of the last log I hit a hidden rock... ....My stones are still in storage in the attic so, i got another idea...I am sitting on a big slab of concrete...use it to sharpen the BK2...so i did. Took out the edge damage in no time and i stropped it to hair shaving sharp on a piece of cardboard that had blown into the yard (lots of construction in a new neighborhood). The Becker got a work out that night and came out like a champ. I would have NO problem taking this as the only tool in a real camping/wilderness situation. Thank you Mr. Becker for such a fine piece of MASSIVE steel!

Thanks for the story!

I've been looking at a Barker Bravo 2 for a while, then came across Becker Knives. After realizing I could get a BK2 and BK9 for the price of a Bravo 2- it became a no brainer. Now I still plan to get the Bravo 2- but having two knives seemed like more fun at the moment.

I have read many many great things about Becker knives- they seem to be a fantastic bang for the buck.

From the standpoint of performance to price ratio, Beckers are tough to beat in a hard-use production knife.

This is quite true. I own the BK2 and the BK11...pretty good combo IMO and wasnt an arm and leg

Those are the two that I have also and I agree they are great for the price and would be worth more than they acually cost, Hope to pick up some more Becker's in the future.

Here I used my BK-2 to chop through an osage branch

And still able to shave a stick

Dude that's awesome! Thanks!

Send that branch to Mr. Becker to make scales for the BK2...totally in time for halloween..

Would look awesome!

You don't see all that many 0.250" blades in a 5" knife, and none that I know of at the price of a BK-2.

I got one a couple of weeks ago - along with the micarta scales - but am waiting on a kydex belt sheath (On/Scene tactical) to arrive before using it. Decided I like the micarta on a BK-9, so thats where they reside now.
