I need some type of small thin LED light to add to this kit...anything else you guy's can think of ?

Needles and thread would be good.
Small compass.

YES a small flash light.

A famliy picture woud be great too.

small fishing kit. Hooks and line.

A space blanket. Shelter is to dang important not to have.

Are you keeping any water with this kit. A steel canteen would be a great to have. Put the knife and tin kit with a canteen pouch. On a belt. Or maybe get a water bottle carrier and put the knife and tin kit with it.

Bryan...those are some good ideas, I need needle & thread ! the Water bottle kit, I already have & I take it with me when I hit the hills or go to the lake & it rides in my truck every where I go. It has pretty much everything I need. the Knife Kit is just incase I get seperated from my bottleholder kit -

Thanks guys...those green Glo N the Dark Spacers on the handle really do work...my boys think they are the best idea ever !

I polished the lid of my tin in the hopes I could use it as a signal mirror. Maybe a small pencil and some paper to make notes and maps. Firesteels and knowing how to make a friction fire is important but I always carry a handful of bic lighters in various spots on my person when I go in the woods, saves a lot of time and energy.
