Looking to replace my Entrek Javalina with a Becker, I have a 9 and a 14, and want to fill the gap. As I'm typing this I'm thinking "just get both, you will eventually anyway" . So which one first I suppose?

Since you have a 9 and 14, I think a 16 would fill the gap nicely.
It's a wonderful knife.

I'd go and find a Saber 16. Best of both worlds! You get the strength of the 2 and "speed in hand" of the 16.

Apples and oranges. Despite their seeming similarity in size, the BK2 and BK16 are two very different knives.

The question to ask is, what tasks do want your new Becker to perform best? That answer will guide you towards one or the other.

I think with what you have already, the 16 would be the best fit.

You may also want to check out the 10. Great knife too and is very comparable to the 2 in many ways.

I have the 2, 11’s, 24 and a 15. The 2 is my around camp knife to prepare kindling, cut rope, chop, dig, well, everything that a “Camp-anion” knife should do and it does it well.

The 11’s (one with wrap, one with the micarta) and the 24 are my backup knives and the 15 rides on my belt and does the chores that the ¼” blade of the 2 is not suitable for, filleting fish, chopping veggies, steak knife, etc.

The 16 is a baby 2 which I had and donated to my son who uses it daily. It was to much like a 2 and I was afraid that pounding it like I do my 2 would not be the best for it.
