BK2 performs and impresses yet again (pics)

Hey guys,

Well today I was splitting some hardwood timber a buddy had dropped off for me from a demo job. I always religiously remove any nails from these timbers, but it seems this one had been punched below the surface of the timber.

The BK2 went straight through the it, couldn't even feel any resistance from the nail, and as you can see from the pics, the edge was totally undamaged.

One of the many reasons I love these blades.

It does mate, I use it nearly every other day, then a quick wipe down, then a strop and a rub with camellia oil. If it gets dull (which to be honest is a rarity) I hit it with the ken onion worksharp.

Oh yeah! Sorry I didn't recognize it. I loved the work you did showcased in the other thread.

Has the blade developed a slight bit of recurve?

Those recurves are sometimes a bit too easy to create with power tools, what?.... LOL.... Love your posts Mr. Gassy...

Thanks Ethan much appreciated, and you're right it was definately part of the learning curve using the KE. But I kinda like it to be honest, although not a fan of the recurve, its subtly is rather nice I think.

Greetings,

A 16p nail should be nothing more that an inconvenience to the BK2. I made a comment at camp a few years ago, so we cut a 1/4" grade 5 bolt with a BK2... did nothing more than scrape the paint off.
