BK2 Production Status ?

Most suppliers seem to be out of stock and i have read unofficial reports that Kabar is trying to catch up with BK2 production (too popular :D).

Official word on the status ?, Kabar site didn't help much.

I haven't heard anything other than the sheer volume of knives being made right now is staggering. Kabar is catching up, gearing up, and are working as hard as they can to get knives out the door. I won't speculate on when they will be back in stock, contact some dealers to see when they are being told they will be back on the shelves.

Heh, looks like I may get my replacement scales and not have a knife to put them on.
 
Exactly my situation too........ i have micarta but no BK2 to put them on :(
 
I'm calling the online store (un-named for now) today to see what the story is; it's been a week since I ordered. If they don't have mine already in the mail, I'm going to give them a gentle ear full. While I understand that supply issues are a fact of life, I have been checking their website and not once has the "We ship the next day!" on their BK2 page changed to "It might be weeks!" and really... that's not a nice way to do business.
 
I've been waiting for mine 2 1/2 weeks now, and I didn't even order it from an online shop, it's just customs that takes so freaking long!
 
They got their BK2s in ten minutes before I called. Now standing down from DEFCON 1 :)

Over the past 3 days the factory has shipped us approximately 1400 BK-2s. They have been inspected and are being boxed and shipped.
The pipe line is being filled as we speak. Sorry for the long wait.

Hey Paul, The factory just shipped you BK2's?? But I thought thats where you worked.:confused: BTW Nice to know that more BK2's are coming down the pipe. I need to get one soon.

Exactly why i asked the question here to get it from the horses mouth so to speak.

Off to pester my dealer now before i buy other things.

The KA-BAR office and warehouse is a separate building from the Cutco Factory complex.
We started out on the main campus but KA-BAR's continuous growth has forced us to move to a larger building with more capacity.
It is a pain to have to travel back and forth a couple of miles to the factory but that distance also allows us to be pirates (In the Apple Macintosh sort of way)

Told ya'll, they work their butts off at Kabar, to bring you your BKT goodness. 1400? Might wanna throw some BK14's and BK9's in there too. :D
