Well, after receiving bk2 ib the post a few days ago, and reading the posts on here, it gave me some serious enthusiasm to have a crack at modding my own.

Bare with me, this is my first attempt ;-)

after stripping it down I applied the paint stripper, took about an hour for it to do its magic, it all pulled of in several bits, almost like a skin.

I wanted a patina, and I covered it in a citrus based chewing gum remover, almost came out like gun bluing

anyway ive started rubbing it down, not sure if im gonna leave it how it is, or start again, im not really sure what look im going for :-/, its only had a rub down with 240 grit wet and dry so far, I will work my way up the grits later tonight.

Looks nice scoobie! What's next!

not sure to be honest, I think I will rub away the rest of the patina and just have a nice smooth finish, I was just experimenting really, then put on the new scales when they arrive.

Ideally I want something thats nice and smooth, but usable, the patina thats on it now will rub off on its first use probably.

I use apple cider vinegar for my patina and it had a similar finish although not quite as dark. I polished the blade of my bk16 after but left the patina on the handle. I have been thinking about doing a similar finish on my saber bk16 but leaving the patina intact on the top part of the blade and polishing the lower section kinda opposite to what you have done with yours.

This is what makes it so much fun to own a becker... They are great straight out of the box but you can have a lot of fun making them your own.

I did recent see a post where someone used hot sauce to make the patina and it turned out awesome...it was very different looking then most I have seen.

Patinas are actually pretty strong, I like the light and dark contrast on the knife.
But keep us updated!

I refitted the scales, and the combination of the black handles just didnt look right, so back to the sanding :-/

Wait for your scales to come in!
It doesn't look good with the regular Grivory handles unless you mod them.
Trust me, my queen is breathtaking in her wood scales :p!

this may or may not sound nerdy but i wish I had the time & money or friends close by. who's becker knives I could strip, grind and finish (sounds so dirty:) and play with bluings, patinas, mods. because I ain't guts to do it to mine unless I like it.
