BK2 Question

Hi Everyone,

Quick question. Does the BK2 come with the new coating yet? I'm an Aussie and I noticed Amazon has what looks to be the new coating but when I enquirer with a local seller who still has the old coating, he assured me it was the latest version.

It would depend on the seller, lots of different sellers some old stock some may have new. as long as you talk to them and confirm the features that are on the new one it should be as described. not sure how returns work from your location, im in the states so its free and pretty fast without charges for customs etc. I have 2 BK2s from there they are both the old models but were bought early this year.
 
Hey man,

IMO most dealers here take a little longer to sell their stock so it might be awhile before some new ones come in...Try Tomars Ka-Bars maybe? Any big retailer who sells their stock fairly quickly should have the new blades.
 
I've seen some on Amazon that have the laser etching and new coating.

Try not to post links to sites that aren't BFC approved vendors, if you would like a list of them, I'm sure I can find one.

Not trying to be harsh, just repeating what I've been told.

Thanks guys. I checked out Tomars and he confirmed that he does have the new ones in stock so I'll be ordering one. Hoping the new coating is as good as my ESEE's.

I just ordered one from Amazon the other day, and received the latest version with the new coating and laser etching.

They are pictured on Amazon's website as having a white logo...it is in fact gold.

The coating has a rougher texture, more relief feel to it if you will. The coating seems like it would be stouter.

I have just ordered a:

BK14
BK9

...from Amazon. They still have the older model pictured. So I'm thinking that's what I'll get.
