BK2 re sharpening

Richard J here on the forums does great work, but I think you would be better off to learn how to sharpen it your self. It will be real hard for you to mess up a BK2 so grab a mouse pad and some sandpaper or a stone or anything else and give it a try.

Get a Spyderco Sharpmaker for ~ $50. It'll consistently sharpen' what ails ya'.

Psyop, I changed the price after looking. They've gone up since I bought mine, but I did find a bunch for a little over $50.

I just ordered a KME. I don't expect it here till after New Years. However I will then be spending the next month resharpening all my blades.

I've been super happy with the Sharpmaker.
I was kind of on the fence because I heard a lot of people saying it takes too long to reprofile an edge.
I picked up the diamond rods and reprofiled my BK16. It really didn't take that long.
I've had great results with it so far. I think the ultra fine stones are great too.

It even comes with a dvd
And they have a Becker Reinhardt Kuk on the instruction manual cover, it's gotta be good!
I love mine, it's my second most used sharpening tool behind a strop. It's easy and consistent- takes five minutes to learn and it's really pretty hard to mess up.
If you're still on the fence, go get a handful of the infamous $1 knives, file off the serrations and go to town on them for practice. That's how I learned, more or less. Don't give up and keep practicing, and you'll get good at it pretty quickly.
Expect to completely wear out a few of the practice knives, and don't expect to get a great edge on them. They are for practice setting an angle. Once you can set and maintain an angle, go for it on a better quality knife.
